Many of you know about the success of the “Crayons to CAD” program. Middle school students worked in teams with teachers and industry professionals and tradesman during the course of the school year to design building projects. They entered their projects in regional and national contests. The teachers, students and professionals shared a lot of information and learned a lot about each other. Most importantly the students had fun and many will enter the construction industry.

Students who participated in Crayons to CAD were primarily from rural school districts. We want to introduce the program in the core inner city districts. To do so we will launch a special one day event—the iBuild showcase

Mr. Weber says, the word event (ĭ-věnt’), means, n. 1: something that happens at a given place and time. 2: a special set of circumstances. 3: a phenomenon that follows and is caused by some previous phenomenon;

The students at the iBuild showcase will experience construction and “will choose a very wise career path in engineering and construction after the iBuild showcase".

Imagine middle school students seeing the importance of math and science skills.

Imagine high school students experiencing the importance of responsibility, time management, and team-work as the strong foundation of a positive career pathway.

Imagine an industry working together to emphasis integration of academics and preparation for employment in highly technical career fields like architecture, engineering, and construction.

There is no need to imagine... You are invited to make this a reality and participate in the

iBuild showcase
